Where is Freight Bar located?
Freight Bar & Rooftop is right in the heart of Ballarat at 49 Mair St E — easy to find and close to everything.
What are your opening hours?
We're open Wednesday to Sunday, from 12pm till late.
Do I need to book, or can I just walk in?
Walk-ins are always welcome. For bigger groups or on event nights, booking ahead means you're guaranteed a spot.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes — we have limited parking along the side of the venue, with 4-6 spots available.
What food do you serve?
Our full menu is available all week, from share plates to pizzas, plus chef's specials and weekly deals like $15 Pizza Night every Friday. We cater for gluten-free and other dietary preferences — just let us know.
Do you have a rooftop?
Yes — head upstairs to our rooftop for a change of scenery, whether it's a sunny afternoon or a night out.
Can I bring a group?
Absolutely. Freight is made for groups, catch-ups, and long sessions with friends.
Do you host live music or events?
Yes — catch Hootenanny every Thursday, FR8 Fridays, and Free Sundays, plus regular live music throughout the week. Check our events page for what's on.
Is Freight Bar dog-friendly?
Yes — dogs are welcome in our beer garden.
